From writing articles to editing videos, my experiences in journalism have taught me the art of storytelling.
TL;DR: I'm the CS major who likes writing and video editing, but also editing websites for publications. I am able to use my CS skills to enhance my ability to create digital journalism.
In 2023, my left eye was paralyzed so instead of doing serious design work, I decided to expand my skill set at the Columbia School of Professional Studies! I was able to take a graduate level course called Managing the Entertainment Tech Multiverse and a class called Introduction to Video Storytelling. I was lucky enough to work with Zoeann Murphy from the Washington Post to create a mini documentary about WPRB. (Click here to learn more about New Jersey's Only Radio Station).
To edit the documentary, we used Premiere Pro. You can watch the documentary below!
The Trenton Project is a initiative in understanding Trenton, New Jersey as it was in the past and currently, better! As an urban studies minor, I am dedicated to learning about Trenton, as a sister city to New York. With Purcell Carson, I was part of a team that created the documentary titled "Doñas Determinadas". In it, we tell the story of how two women lead an independent and community-oriented life 3,000 miles apart.
